Fun With APRS

Listening to the Linux in the Ham Shack   and was inspired to try dipping my toe into the APRS pool.  My goal was to at least show up on a map with a zero dollar investment.  After requesting and obtaining an APRSISCE/32 passcode, downloading APRSCheckIn for my Android phone and browsing to aprs.fi I am finally sending packets over the APRS system.  ACTUAL COST $0

Some Shortwave Listening

Very rare 25 MHz reception at the bottom of the sun spot cycle.

In addition to these activities I worked a number of other special events, worked with ARES on local event support, made a number of memorable QSOs.  I lam looking forward to 2018 and many new ham radio adventures.
